Who we are
Quiet Debt Club ("we", "us") operates The Quiet Debt Club website and app. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice.
Personal data we collect
- Account data: email, username, hashed password (or OAuth identifier), account settings.
- App data you enter: debts, budgets, incomes, expenses, savings pots, side hustle sales, notes.
- Usage & device data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps, error logs (for security and to improve the service).
- Support communications: messages you send us.
Payment card details are collected directly by Paddle at checkout — we do not store card numbers.
Why we use it (and the legal basis)
- To provide the Service — performance of our contract with you.
- To secure the Service and prevent fraud — legitimate interests.
- To improve the Service — legitimate interests, using aggregated or minimal data where possible.
- To respond to support requests — performance of our contract.
- To send essential service emails — performance of our contract.
- To meet legal obligations — legal obligation.
Who we share it with
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to host the app and database.
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record — for payments, subscription management, tax compliance, and invoicing.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed.
- Authorities where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK/EU Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it (e.g. tax or accounting records).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, export, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO). To exercise a right, contact us through the app.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege database policies — to protect your data.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to keep the Service secure. We do not use advertising cookies.
